Birth

George Henry Linder, son of William Linder and Charlotte Randall, was born May 15, 1863. The Census of 1901 gives a year of 1864. George's obituary and the death record of his brother John say that 1864 is not correct.

Marriage

George married Mary Ann Sully on January 6, 1884 in Berlin, Waterloo County, Ontario.

Death

George died Thursday July 6, 1939 in Kitchener. His obituary was in the K-W Record on the same day, page 15, and in the Elmira Signet a week later with most of the same information:
GEORGE LINDER
    An employee of the Consolidated Felt Company [at Milverton] for many years, George Henry Linder, 76, died early today at the home of his daughter, Mrs. George Diestelmeyer, 156 Samuel street. He was born in Elmira on May 15, 1863, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Linder. [The] Deceased attended the United church and was a member of the Independent Order of Oddfellows.
    Surviving are two sons, Fred of Galt and Lanson of Toronto, two daughters, Mrs. Robert Jack of Kitchener and Mrs. George Diestelmeyer, two brothers, Samuel Linder of Kitchener and William Linder of Wowata, Sask, a sister, Mrs. Otto Kreuger of Kitchener and two grandchildren. In 1884 he married Mary Ann Sully, who predeceased him on April 22, 1937.
    Funeral service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the home of his daughter, 156 Samuel street, with Rev. Finlay G. Stewart officiating. Interment will take place in the Union Cemetery, Elmira. Remains will rest at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home until Friday at 4 p.m.

Death

The obituary of Mary Ann appeared in the K-W Record on Thursday April 22, 1937 (page 15) and in the Elmira Signet on Thursday April 29, 1937 (page 2). The content was almost identical:
MRS. GEORGE LINDER
    Confined to bed since early in the year, Mrs. Mary Ann Linder, 139 Waterloo street, died early today in her 72nd year. Born in Bloomingdale, daughter of the late John and Mrs. Scully, deceased had been a life-long resident of this area.
    Her husband, two sons, Fred of Galt, Lanson of Toronto, two daughters, Mrs. Robert Jack of Mount Forest, and Mrs. George Diestelmeyer, Samuel Street, Kitchener survive, with two brothers, Edward, West Montrose, John at St. Jacobs, and three sisters, Mrs. Ephriam Randall of Detroit, Mrs. August Nahls of Preston, and Mrs. Louis Dumart of Kitchener. Two grandchildren also survive.
    Mr. and Mrs. Linder were former residents of Elmira.
    Funeral services will be held on Saturday afternoon from her late residence at two o'clock with Rev. Clarke Logan in charge. Interment will take place in Union Cemetery, Elmira. The body will be at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home until noon Friday.
